Biography

 

Brad is dedicated to helping your family separate with dignity and recognizing what is best for both of you.

For more than 40 years Brad has been practising family law helping families find solutions for one of the most difficult problems they can face – the end of a marriage.

Brad has recognized by the Government of Saskatchewan as a Family Mediator, Family Arbitrator and as a King’s Counsel (K.C.) as being ‘learned’ in the law. Brad is also a Collaborative Lawyer.

Brad believes that the two of you can come to a solution that best fits the needs of you and your family.

Background

 

Brad grew up in Calgary and Saskatoon and went to the University of Saskatchewan for his law degree graduating in 1980.

About Brad:

  • He finished first on the Saskatchewan Bar Examinations receiving the Law Society of Saskatchewan Academic Excellence Award;
  • Brad is a King’s Counsel (K.C,) appointed by the Government of Saskatchewan which recognizes lawyers of high standing in their profession;
  • Brad is recognized in the 2021 Edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada for Family Law;
  • Brad is a Qualified Family Mediator, Family Arbitrator and Collaborative Lawyer;
    Brad is the founding President of the Collaborative Professionals of Saskatchewan;
  • Brad is a teacher – having taught lawyers, financial and mental health professionals across Canada, the United States and Australia on how to help families settle their questions and problems outside of Court.

Accomplishments

 

Brad has appeared in the Court of Queen’s Bench, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Brad has been very active in the legal community. Among Brad’s accomplishments include:

  • Presenting programs and papers at both national and international conferences;
  • Serving as the Chair of the Canadian Bar Association National Family Law Section;
  • Chairing the Canadian Bar Association Mid Winter Meeting;
  • Serving as the Founding President of the Collaborative Lawyers of Saskatchewan Inc;
  • Being named Volunteer of the Year by the Saskatchewan Legal Education Society;
  • Serving as a member the Board of the International Academy of Collaborative Professional;

Brad has been very active in the Collaborative Law Community since it first came to Saskatchewan. Brad has helped train more than a 1,000 lawyers, mental health professionals and financial professionals across Canada, the United States and Australia in Collaborative Practice.

Brad has been active in the Community and has served as President of the MacKenzie Art Gallery, as a member of he Saskatchewan Arts Board and as a founding Trustee of the Saskatchewan Foundation of the Arts.
